Why We Chose To Remake Drive

We chose Drive for the remake of a film as a result of its effective use of text placement and the theme it illustrates with the usage of sound and mise-en -scene. The low key lighting used within the opening is emphasises the placement in Los Angeles and creates the atmosphere of where the film is based in. This will help us with our film opening in regards to how we will set the theme of our opening and how to make use of sound and mise effectively. We also chose Drive for its elements of the neo-noir genre in which our narrative also fits into which shows a good example as to how we should set the theme to our film in and how to make use of these features. Finally, I think the opening is of a reasonable size close to the 2 minutes limit in which our opening will be running for which means the opening can be used as a clear comparison to the drive opening.
